Onlia, an insurance company, adopted a gamification approach to design a phone app which aimed to increase road safety in Canada. Users logged into this app for their daily navigation needs. In turn, Onlia rated the users on their driving skills after every ride and also suggested feedback on what they could do to improve their score the next time. This way, users were not competing with themselves but were also striving to become safer drivers.
